Preschool Seminar for Tamil Language Teachers

The Training and Resources Sub-group of the Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee organised the Seminar for Pre-school Tamil Language teachers on 27 May 2017 at Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre. This is the first time a seminar has been organised for pre-school Tamil Language Teachers. With this inaugural effort, the organising committee seeks to demonstrate how the teaching of Tamil Language can be joyful and lively in an authentic environment. This would help teachers to further motivate their students in the learning of Tamil Language.

The Seminar created a platform for pre-school teachers to share on strategies using purposeful play and ways to engage the students in learning Tamil Language. Teacher-led concurrent sessions were the highlight of the Seminar. Eight selected teachers shared their best practices with the participants. The sessions covered the following aspects:
