Most Inspiring Tamil Teacher Award 2017
Tamil Murasu, SPH along with Singapore Tamil Teachers’ Union and the Ministry of Education’s Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee jointly organised the Most Inspiring Tamil Teachers Award on 2nd September 2017 at Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre.
The Award which recognises inspiring Tamil teachers for their dedication and hardwork in the various Primary and Secondary schools and Junior colleges. This award ceremony was held in conjunction with the commemoration of Teacher’s Day.
A total of 10 awards were presented at the ceremony with categories at the Primary, Secondary School and Junior College levels. To motivate Tamil Trainee teachers at NIE, an award was also presented to the Best NIE Trainee Teacher.
As in previous years, there were three retired senior Tamil teachers who received the Lifetime Achievement Awards, in recognition for their contributions to the teaching of the Tamil language.
These prestigious awards recognised the stellar performance of Tamil language teachers in their role as educators and promoting the language among their students. Minister for Education (Schools) & Second Minister for Transport Mr Ng Chee Meng was the Guest of Honour.
Member of Parliament for Sembawang GRC and Chairman of the Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MOE) Mr Vikram Nair was also present to grace the occasion.
